Taekwondo White Belt Pattern
Can I go to promotion with only two stripes?
I go to Sung Lee TaeKwonDo. I am a white belt and only have two stripes. My SaBumNim told me to come to one more class so that I can go to promotion. But I also don't have 16 classes. I know my 3-step non-contact sparing and I know the first pattern. Plus I know the punching and kicking. The only thing is, is that I don't know if I have enough strength to break a board on the breaking technique (since I am kicking). So do you think I can go to promotion?
Board breaking is actually a lot easier than most people realize. Being a white belt your biggest concern with breaking is technique and aim. If your technique is good you won't get hurt with a kick. If your aim is good then you'll breeze through the board.
Have a little more confidence in yourself and good luck with testing.

White Belt Pattern [ITF]
Taekwondo styles and clubs?
I recently moved to near Mornington, VIC, and unfortunately had to leave my taekwondo club behind. I'm unsure of the name of the style I'm accustomed to (Belt system goes white, yellow, green, blue, brown, black with first pattern being four directional punch) but would like to find a local club to join, having reached 3rd grade previously. Can anyone help?
I'm pretty sure that's ITF taekwondo, because WTF doesn't have a brown belt...
Unsure of where Mornington is, but if you can get yourself to Cheltenham, theres a really good WTF club there, if you where good at your old club, it will be easy to change
