I do mma. What you need are gloves, hand wraps, shin guards, mouth guard, gi and thats pretty much it. Oh ya and most important a cup. MMA schools vary in prices. A top notch school will probably be like a yearly membership witch is pretty expensive like $1500. An ok gym is monthy like maybe 100. Mine is a 3 month membership which is $300.

I think you need to be 18. A blue-belt in taekwondo? That`s pretty useless, and depending on your wrestling and boxing experience you have a lot of training ahead of you. Try taking some Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, or Muay Thai Kickboxing. You need grappling gloves which can be purchased fairly cheaply.

Mma Fight Gear How do I find wholesalers in my area for what I want? LA?
I am looking for wholesaler manufacturers so that I can buy things cheap in bulk. The product I am looking for ranges from beach stuff, lakers stuff, mma fighting gear, to LED jewelry and such. I am in LA area and am looking for the cheapest and best quality stuff probably in my area so I can pick it up instead of pay for shipping and think there has to be some in LA or SD or somewhere. It seems kind of hard to get a list of these places so as to compare them or to find the ones that specifically make what I want. I see stores carry some of the stuff that I want but I dont think they would tell me where they get it?
Downtown LA is a good area for wholesale, but for the trade mark stuff (Lakers, MMA) you have to go to authorized dealers.

Were the UFC contests of the 90's Vale Tudo fights as oppose to MMA fights?
UFC early 90's and UFC today are today are almost like watching two different events. Early UFC pitted martial arts purists against one another with no mandated equipment and virtually no rules and no weight classes.
UFC Today pits Mixed Martial artists who train in various forms in standing/ground fighting with required gear, set of rules, and weight classes...
So, was early UFC American Vale Tudo?
It depends on how you look at it, but in some ways it was. The rule structure at least was more similar to the Vale Tudo events in Brazil than modern MMA today.
Personally, I consider any competition format that allows for striking, throws/takedowns, and extended ground work/submissions to be MMA. But that's purely my opinion. I certainly see it as plausible that early UFC matches could be considered Vale Tudo, or perhaps No Holds Barred, by some, and not the modern version of MMA. Just like early Pancrase matches might be more accurately called Hybrid Wrestling. Me personally, I'd still throw them into the broad category of "MMA".
Edit: Sherdog forum member "Scooter Brown" put some thought into categorizing MMA subsets. I like it, and frankly it took me about an hour to find it again, so I'm going to share it:
Vale Tudo: Headbutts, no mandatory gloves (Early UFC, IVC, Rio Heroes)
Vale 2.0: Elbows, Kicks & knees to head on ground (middle age UFC, Art of War FC)
Pride: No elbows (to the head!), Kicks & knees to head on ground (Pride, DEEP)
UFC: Elbows, No Kicks or knees to head on ground (UFC, EliteXC, etc...)
Pride Light: No Elbows(2 ta HEDZ), or knees to head on ground (Pride USA, IFL, K-1/Heroes?)
