MMA Training 101 – One Punch Knockout
When you see a fight in which a slugfest is taking place, realize that if the fighters are throwing and absorbing blows they probably aren't using proper technique. Whether it goes to a unanimous decision or split, never finish the fight without leaving everything you gave in the hands of the judges. Here we provide 3 keys to knocking your opponent out in the fight.
Hold Your Base.
Make sure you are stable with two points on the ground that can generate the power necessary to KO your opponent. You can't product maximum power without your base giving you the support a knockout punch needs.
This supports the use of legs kicks. When you take away your opponent's base, they can't put any power in their punches, and will often drop their hands whenever you strike to protect leaving their jaw wide open.
Just Explode.
In training you can practice explosive exercises as often as possible. Hitting pads, pulling off a submission, and shooting for the take-down can all be done with explosive efforts.
When you're in weight training, do every lift with an explosion that would stimulate how you would be with a one punch knockout.
Connection.
Hit targets in practice as often as possible. Use moving ones whenever you can simulate your opponent moving in every direction.
Anticipate head bobbing, and side to side shuffling. The more you are ready for this in training the easier it will be to KO your opponent in the cage.
These 3 aspects of one-punch knockouts should be practiced and further looked into. An online MMA training program can help you elaborate on these.

Taekwondo Tkd Head If 60% of TaeKwonDo school is Mcdojang, how do we clean them up, by?
challenging each dojang's average student to a fight? By writing anonymously to the head of TKD organization and highlighting to them that almost all TKD schools are money making scheme?
How do you approach the problem to clean up the TKD ranks of posers!???
My best bet for me is to do a friendly challenge to someone that would say they are black belt do that full contact sparring!
For you to challange the McDojangs (or their students) out there, what purpose would that serve? You would be showing disgrace to the martial art you belong to, and to the school you belong to. No self-respecting martial artist would ever do that.
And why would you choose the "average" student? Are you afraid the grandmaster or the top students? Who gets to choose the "average" student?
You are clearly singling out Taekwondo, but you are forgetting that every martial art is having problems with such schools.
And where did you get 60% from, anyway? The only possible way for you to know is to have surveyed and/or surveilled each and every dojang out there.
And what is your criteria for McDojang? There is no standard definition, and if any one school possessed all that most people agreed makes up a MD, that school either wouldn't last long or wouldn't have "average" students.
And what would the rules be for your friendly challange? Ring rules or street rules? If street rules, what criteria would you use to define a winner? Taekwondo rules? Or each uses the martial art of their expertise?
How many dojangs would you visit and make the challange before you decided things are cleaned up? You really think that is your best bet? To physically challange 60% of the 100,000 martial arts schools in this country alone? Assuming you could cover 2 dojangs a day, non-stop, that would take you 82 years. Assuming you are still in your early teens, you would get to the last dojang at past your expected life expectancy, and well past the prime fighting time of even the best martial artists. And that's only the Taekwondo schools. You'd have to work on Karate, and MMA, and so on.
You did ask a valid question, though: "How to clean it up"
And there is an answer, but we have seen, time and again, that it will not work. There must be an independent grading association - like the SAT scores that highschoolers take. This grading would define requirements, and as you test, you are graded according to the requirements in this system.
To be fair, you test every year, or two years, and re-apply. You may do well one year, but others - not so good. In this manner, children will be held back, and potentially so will older adults.
This concept isn't new. In the computer field, I am certified as MCSD - Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer. I can't claim that status all the time. As the years go by and requirements are tweaked, I must re-test to re-qualify, or I lost my certification. If I don't re-up, I have to start all over again at the bottom. This incentive to maintain my certification necessarily requires that I continue studying and improving my skillsets.
The same should be true for martial arts who implement a grading system of sorts. Your competency is graded against an independent criteria, and you must continually work to maintain it. It's not like once you get your rank, you are at least that rank for ever. No - you can lose it if you don't maintain it.

what are the strong points or shortcomings of wing chun, aikido, kajukenbo, kempo, tang soo do, jeet kun do?
i take TKD now and want to learn something more practical. these are all i could find in my area. I'm not looking to drop tae kwon do, just to cross train. which ones would be good combos?
I'm looking for something that will help me in a real fight and won't put me on my back like BJJ.. i dont want just ground-fighting but standing grapples, takedowns and effecient strong strikes.
so if i could get a description of each of these or just the ones you know about that would help me out a great deal.
no offense, but i only want to hear from people who know they are talking about.
To anyone that practices these styles (Because I don't practice any of these [Yet. ^_^ My major art is Tae Kwon Do like the person who started this question]): If the way I've said this offends you, I'm deeply sorry. I meant nothing by it. My computer is too crappy for me to hit wikipedia at the moment, but I might revise this tomorrow moring after I reformat my hard drive.
I don't think any style is ultimately better than another. They all have a different balance in the way that they are, and in the practitioner.
I have some entry-level knowledege of some of these styles, but I haven't practiced any of them.
Wing Chun-
Pros- Very good close combat fighting, certain styles teach "Counter-Grappling." One of the many styles that inspired the Martial Arts concept of "Jeet Kune Do."
Cons- No actual grappling in many styles, no advocation of high kicks (Which would mean the high kick heaven that is Tae Kwon Do might have to go down the drain:P)
Aikido
Pros- Teaches you how to use your opponents weight against them (Por Ejemple: They punch, and you throw them like a sack of potatoes ), teaches great self-defense against striking.
Cons- I'm sure striking is taught in some styles, but the gist of the art is throwing. It's your choice whether or not that's a pro or a con, because throwing might work better for you than striking.
Kajukenbo
Pros- Hybrid Martial art combining elements from boxing, kung fu, kenpo, and other styles. Large number of practical techniques.
Cons- It covers about six styles, which is great, but since simplicity and practicality have a link in some people: It might not be simple. I don't know the style, but I also don't know you, however. I can't honestly say that and be completely correct, but that's the only con I can think of (If it actually exists). I'm sure someone in this style will expose the truth about it. I've heard some good things about Kajukenbo.
Kempo-
Pros- Decent striking training and grappling as well. I've only observed a few techniques from the style, and they seemed ok in my book.
Tang Soo Do-
Pros- Has some base level similarites to Tae Kwon Do, which can make your journey across this style easier. Most styles are 50/50 in punching/kicking.
Jeet Kune Do- It isn't a Martial Art: It's more a concept that sometimes goes with a few techniques of a Martial Art System (Not necessarily a style: Bruce Lee didn't want a new style).
Pros- Teaches you to analyze your opponent, and expose their flaws. Very practical and open-ended way of thinking. If you join a school: Certain Jeet Kune Do schools advocate you going to various other Martial Arts schools so that you can interpret for yourself what is practical for you and what is not. I haven't read the Tao of Jeet Kune Do yet, but I think the Tao may also state that you should experiment with styles as well. That way you can learn to form the knowledege of those techniques into your own thing.
An artist doesn't go to school to learn how to paint a masterpiece. They forget, and they just guide their hand in a form that seems right: That's how they make masterpieces.
Jeet Kune Do is formless, but it has form. That means certain things aren't advocated, but nothing is written in stone. Jeet Kune Do advocates you using what works for you. One thing that is say in the style is:
"No High Kicks"
The thing is: That is very open-ended. If there is an opening for it, Jeet Kune Do is a style that also advocates you striking if you have an opening to do something like that. You are to attack in whatever way you can.
Cons- If you think Jeet Kune Do not being a complete style is a flaw: There you go. I don't, but once again: I don't know you.
i trained for many years as a child in taekwondo, weapons and hapkido and i had not practiced it for many years and as an adult i have been in some dangerious situations and at that moment when being in a life or death situation something inside of me clicked and without even thinking about it i used my selfdefense skills and that is what saved my life even without practicing it for over 20 yrs.can someone explain what that is and how that happens?
are our/my minds programed?
It's the 5 tenets of TKD:
COURTESY
INTEGRITY
PERSEVERANCE
SELF-CONTROL,
INDOMITABLE SPIRIT
In the final analysis, it is these five qualities of spirit that will keep the martial artist on the mountain of life, regardless of the body’s physical limitations the years bring forth. To develop and to cherish these qualities and then to practice them, will enable the martial artist to face any and all terrain on the mountain of life where family, work, leisure, friendship and spirituality flow like streams into a lake, running over with water for everything living.

EDIT: On the spirituality/mental side of training. This is one of the problems that many TMA's have against the MMA's. I am advocate of both MMA and TMA. While I do believe that knocking someone over from a distance with telekinetic energy through chi is not possible, to discount the mental and spiritual side of martial arts is like driving a 6 speed in only 1 gear. It may get you from point A to point B, but you will never fully feel the true power and capability of the automobile without being able to shift through all the gears.
