MMA Training 101 – One Punch Knockout
When you see a fight in which a slugfest is taking place, realize that if the fighters are throwing and absorbing blows they probably aren't using proper technique. Whether it goes to a unanimous decision or split, never finish the fight without leaving everything you gave in the hands of the judges. Here we provide 3 keys to knocking your opponent out in the fight.
Hold Your Base.
Make sure you are stable with two points on the ground that can generate the power necessary to KO your opponent. You can't product maximum power without your base giving you the support a knockout punch needs.
This supports the use of legs kicks. When you take away your opponent's base, they can't put any power in their punches, and will often drop their hands whenever you strike to protect leaving their jaw wide open.
Just Explode.
In training you can practice explosive exercises as often as possible. Hitting pads, pulling off a submission, and shooting for the take-down can all be done with explosive efforts.
When you're in weight training, do every lift with an explosion that would stimulate how you would be with a one punch knockout.
Connection.
Hit targets in practice as often as possible. Use moving ones whenever you can simulate your opponent moving in every direction.
Anticipate head bobbing, and side to side shuffling. The more you are ready for this in training the easier it will be to KO your opponent in the cage.
These 3 aspects of one-punch knockouts should be practiced and further looked into. An online MMA training program can help you elaborate on these.

Martial Art Store Where could I find Ninja or some type of martial art print fabric?
I am wanting to make a pillow case with ninjas (not teenage mutant ninja turtles though) or martial art fabric however i am having a hard time finding any online or in any nearby fabric stores.
I have been hunting to see if I could find something that may be on a t-shirt but no luck. the only thing I can suggest is getting a free download of the figures and you can get stuff for your computer that can have you put it on fabric. It will be a picture but not all over the fabric unless you have a way of doing that.

What do you do when you're in a combat plight? Do you cry, run away, or strike back? You don't have to possess strength to defeat your antagonist. All you need to do is to learn the basics in mixed martial arts applications and you're ready to defend yourself, if you desire to. To be able to perform the different methods involved in your chosen fighting system, you should have all the correct gear; it always begins with the fightwear you have.
The fightwear used in the different schools of martial arts differs. If you're into traditional forms of martial arts, you will need to have your own belts, trousers, and jackets. There are a number of variations depending on the martial art.
The gi top used by Judo students are tough and lasting cotton fabric because players tug on the gi to postion their competitor off-balance. The gi bottoms should be above the judoka's ankles so that the foot positions are not impeded.
Belts are made from strong cotton and to make it hardy, it should be double stitched. The skill level of the student is shown by the belt's color.
In karate, the jacket should be lighter and durable to add to comfort. Because the training consists of long sessions, the jacket's pure cotton material can soak up the sweat or perspiration.
Trousers should be robust so that they don't rip or get torn easily. The trousers come with drawstrings. The material for the belt should be thick cotton and its color should be appropriate to the skill level of the student.
All types of martial arts have their own fightwear. Ask your teacher about it. You need to wear correct clothing so that you can fight with ease.
If you want to learn about MMA the right way, you should first purchase the proper fightwear and other equipment. You should know how to pick the proper clothing for a certain fighting system or form of martial art. How do you for your mixed martial arts clothing. This is a very basic thing to do. Some martial arts classes already provide the clothing but you need to pay a minimal fee for it.
There are also ready made martial arts clothing sold in online stores and in local stores. Search the internet to find the proper MMA clothing or you can shop locally. Ask the salesperson where you can find such clothing.

Shaolin Kung Fu Art Which Martial Art is better: Kung Fu, Karate, Shaolin, or Kickboxing?
Please answer logically!
As the others have stated, there is no one art above others. In fact, what works best for one person may not be the best choice for another.
The reason I chose to answer this question over all the others that routinely ask which art is best is due to the fact there is some confusion in the way in which your query is worded that I feel I can genuinely help with.
"Kung Fu" is a general term which actually translates roughly to "hard work" and inappropriately encompasses all Chinese martial arts (which I usually refer to as "Chinese boxing"). This being the case, however, one could group Shaolin into Kung Fu under these circumstances since Shaolin originates in China.
Furthermore, there are different types of kickboxing, such as Muay Thai or American. Certain methods of kickboxing actually incorporate other systems of martial arts to add to the practicioner's arsenal. That is, an American kickboxer might hold a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, meaning that in this instance "kickboxing" in itself is not a style, whereas in Muay Thai, it would be.
Lastly, Karate is odd because there is an actual system called simply "Karate", but it also refers to most other Japanese disciplines such as Shotokan or Ishinryu.
You might be better off asking what strengths and weaknesses each of the disciplines you mention possess, and to go one step further, to be more specific with regard to the disciplines you ask about.

Shaolin Kung Fu is a sacred art form based upon Taoist and Buddhist religious tradition that started in 500 AD and has since been passed down from Shaolin Monks. Fourth-generation successor Wong Kiew Kit wrote this definitive text that covers the turbulent history of the monks (who were forced to abandon their monasteries in the early 20th century), and includes an overview of Shaolin Kung Fu`s many styles and their all-important psychological and spiritual components.
Shaolin Kung Fu master Lee Yi Min shares his vast knowledge of the once-secret martial art. The techniques of this particular form of Kung Fu, born in the Shaolin Temples, include an early demonstration of the Butterfly style. The Wu Tang Clan presents this classic HK kung fu film, part of their series which also includes FIST OF LEGEND 2, ENTER THE INVINCIBLE HERO, 18 FATAL STRIKES, and SLEEPING FIST. The clan provides a special introduction for the film, explaining both what makes the film such a classic and the influence it has had on them. In it, Alexander Lou stars as Ah Tien, the lone male survivor, along with a number of women and children, of a raid on his village made by the nefarious Nine Devil gang. Retreating into the mountains, Ah and his fellow villagers encounter a monk who teaches them the secret art of Shaolin Chastity Kung Fu. With their new skill, Ah leads the women and children warriors in a thoroughly outlandish battle against the Nine Devils.

The Fundamentals are the Key to Learning and Understanding Shaolin Kung Fu
The Fundamentals Are the Key to Learning and Understanding Shaolin Kung Fu
The concept of Shaolin kung fu originated when Huang Zongxi defined Chinese martial arts as either the Shaolin school or the Wudang school. You also sometimes hear the Shaolin school referred to as the external school, and the Wudang school referred to as the internal school. This was 1669, and since then people call external Chinese martial arts "Shaolin kung fu" even if the style or student has no affiliation to the Shaolin monastery. Learning the Shaolin fundamentals can help anyone improve their understand of the martial arts and help them better protect themselves in case they are attacked.
The Shaolin fundamentals start by teaching basic attacks such as punches, kicks, open hand strikes, elbow strikes, and knees. After the fundamentals are like second nature, then the student works on combinations. The goal is to string together attacks in a logical way that will break through the defenses of the opponent and flow in a fast and fluid fashion. As the opponent tries to defend against one attack, another attack is already coming and heading for a target that is not defended. By keeping pressure on, the opponent will eventually falter in his blocking.
After basic combinations are mastered, the student can learn some more advanced Shaolin fundamentals. Grappling and joint locks are great skill sets to learn because they are very practical and often have a huge impact on the outcome of a fight. It is important to have tools to control the attacker even when he moves too close for effective striking. Restraints and vital point striking allow the student to control an attacker without having to expend a large amount of energy. Leverage is the key to controlling someone that is bigger and stronger while at the same time using very little of your own energy.
The Chinese martial arts also stress the use of kiai, or what the Japanese usually call chi. By focusing your kiai you can inflict more harm on an attacker with strikes because the sum power of your strike will exceed what your muscles can do alone. The Shaolin fundamentals of training your kiai usually involve focusing and mental strength rather than putting the kiai into physical action.
Learning the Shaolin fundamentals makes a martial arts student more prepared for close quarters unarmed combat and is a great stepping stone to more advantages techniques and even other disciplines and martial arts styles. It is all about being ready to protect yourself while hoping that you never need to prove yourself.

I was looking at a tae kwan do martial art school with children who were supposedly 2nd dan black belt. They had twenty year olds who were 6th dan black belt! I hate this kind of thing so much and to make this a question can someone tell me the requirements of grading above the black belt level. I swear for one of the black belt levels you need to be 60 years of age or training in the martial art for art for at least 40 years.
Thank you
My perspective, for a 10 year old to achieve a 2nd degree black belt is almost impossible, they are too immature to be able to attain such a high skill level is such a small amount of time. They probably started at 7 years old, go once a week, and they have a 2nd dan black belt. It's ridiculous..
Korean martial arts copied the rank/belt system used by the Japanese and Okinawans. Then they began to change things for profit. Here is the way it was traditionally.
Traditionally in Japan, the minimum age for black belt was 16 years of age. The reason was simple. A boy was not considered a man until he turned 16. The term Shodan does not mean 1st degree black belt. It means 1st (Sho), Man (Dan). The Japanese felt that one must be mature enough to be a black belt. Children were rarely ever allowed to train until a few years ago.
For rank promotion the rules were strict for many years traditional Japanese arts used something similar to this as guidelines.
NOTE: the time in grade is from one rank to the next. It is not counted from how long you have trained, but from one rank to the next. That means that if it takes longer to reach a belt rank you don't get to test for the next rank sooner. Here is the age time requirements as they should be:
RANK / MINIMUM TIME IN GRADE / MINIMUM AGE
Shodan / 1st dan / 3-5 years (or more) of training / 16
Nidan / 2nd dan / 2 years / 18
Sandan / 3rd dan / 3 years / 21
Yondan / 4th dan / 4 years / 25
Godan / 5th dan / 5 years / 30
Ranks above 5th dan are considered honorary ranks in many styles.
NOTE: these ages are the minimums. In reality it was rare that anyone got to the ranks at those ages. Most black belts were already 21 years old or older. Since the time in grade is not cumulative, you still had to wait the required time before testing for the next rank. In other words if you reached black belt at 18, you still had to wait at least two years before being allowed to test for second degree.
NOTE: Titles are separate from ranks. No one can be issued a Sensei title below the rank of Nidan. Sensei is usually reserved for Sandan or above, but many may be Sandan or above and not be issued the title.
The minimum to be considered a master is Yondan. However, many arts do not give the title below Godan or Rokudan. Not everyone is awarded the title. Titles are always separate from ranks. If they are awarded, it is done by the head of the organization.
My answer/comments are not meant to put you or anyone down. They are here simply to set the record straight. The problems with legitimate martial artists, ranks, titles have all come due to abuse or ignorance of these standards.
************
EDIT:
according to Black belt magazine in the late 1960's less than 3% of all martial arts students ever reached black belt. Of those that did less than 50% of them ever made it to second degree black. None of them were children.
EDIT:
Kwon Kris You mentioned the ATA Tae Kwon Do schools... They are some of the worst McDojo out there. But you mentioned them being easy targets ate tournaments. I wish that was true. They would be easy targets if they would compete in regular tournaments. The ATA has their own tournaments. They do not allow ATA members to compete in other tournaments. They also don't allow non ATA members to compete in their tournaments. That is one way the keep their students. They don't want to be embarrassed so they keep their students on a tight leash.
EDIT:
Rebel...... I Hope you don't believe that statement about being able to fight multiple attackers to be equal to a set black belt rank. The idea that say a third dan should be able to defeat 3 attackers is ludicrous.
