Gum Shield
Heahaces, gum shields, topamax and all thast inbetween!?
Hey guys,
Well I've always had these bad kinda headaches that came rarley as a kid, now at 24 they have progressed over the last year from weekly to almost daily, the effect I was getting maily was really tight neck, shoulders and of course the dreaded headaches! The specilast made me a loverly expensive gum sheild, which stoped my jaw muscles flaring up, but the headahces din't really go, so he put me on topamax, they calmed down, along with me doing streches and stuff, and I thought i could ween myself off the tabs, but i was wrong, So i'm back on them, but I'm at my wits end, I sleep on my back, my neck is tight and sore in the morn, and my jams grins when I move it, I sleep on my side my shoulders just get sore and flare up, I don't know what to do, I'm waiting a neruo appoit.
other info: was on a lot of painkillers, and 1 course of tablet put on a lot of wieght so i stoped excerices, oh and i used to work nights?!
HELP ME PLEASE!!! I'm so upset at this never going away!
try drinking a relaxing tea before bed and use an electric blanket to reduce the swellings... maybe ask for some anti inflammatries to ease the swellings and pain... Ask to have a mri scan done see if there is anything wrong inside your head you could have a growth or something causing pressure... also go to a physio and chiropracter...it might be a whole bunch of problems you've had for years causing strain... please go to the doctors and persist... break down in tears if need be... make it sound worse than it is... Here's hoping it gets sorted. Good luck my thoughts are with you

hi can anyone advise me where i can get a reasonably priced custom fitted gum shield. i have googled lots but has anyone got a recommendation? discounted place? many thanx
its for rugby and boxing...
rugby and boxing are contact sports and you are right to seek a custom made shield.
Your dentist can take a mould of your teeth and fit you with a gum shield that provides the right amount of protection.
Many times I have seen people go for a cheaper homemade option, only to damage their teeth and spend far more on dental restorations than they needed to have.
Besides, they come in all manner of colours and designs and can look great.

I went over a year w/o a crown, your fine…you technically dont even need one..its only done because you tooth under it is brittle and could break easier…which would lead you to need an implant. Its not for infection reasons..your fine.
